Valmont – E-Commerce Experience for a Heritage Fashion Brand

Goal: Design an elevated e-commerce platform for Valmont, a luxury brand rooted in the old money aesthetic, focusing on premium tailoring, timeless silhouettes, and storytelling through design. 


1. Research & Inspiration

  • Explored heritage fashion houses (e.g. Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli)
  • Analyzed old money style characteristics:
    • Minimalism
    • Earthy, neutral tones
    • Serif typography & symmetry
  • Conducted UX benchmarking against Net-a-Porter, Mr. Porter, and Aime Leon Dore


🔍 Insight: Shoppers in this market expect elegance, clarity, and a frictionless journey from discovery to purchase.



2. Information Architecture

Created a streamlined user flow for:

  • Homepage → Editorial layout with hero, featured styles, and lifestyle branding
  • Shop → Category-based filtering with intuitive product discovery
  • Product Page → Craftsmanship-first layout with related styling suggestions
  • Account Dashboard → Premium-feel UX for managing orders, wishlists, and returns
  • Checkout → Trust-building, minimal, and secure


3. Components & System

Designed a full UI system including:

  • Responsive navigation with dropdown menus
  • Collapsible dashboard Navigation
  • Modular product cards with hover states
  • Filters popup with material, size, fit, and color
  • Checkout forms with inline validation
  • Toast & modal components for cart, login, and confirmations
